PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO MS STUDENTS

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO MS STUDENTS

Posted 3/24/20 @ 12:56 PM

Good morning middle school students,

I just wanted to check in with each of you.  If you haven't started completing your work for your 4th quarter classes, please make sure you pick up the pace.  Many students have been contacting their teachers via email or some other online method and that is great!  Some teachers have work provided here in the office if it isn't available online.  As a courtesy to your friend or neighbor...please help us communicate to others that even though we aren't physically at school, there is still work to be completed each week and to earn credit for quarter 4, that work will need to be completed, even if it is at home.  Several teachers have either found youtube videos to help with the instruction, some have started using Zoom, others have created videos to upload on 365, etc.  Please do the best you can to read through instructions and examples (usually the part you like to skip).

The state is currently filing a waiver with the Federal Government to get AzM2 canceled for this year, however, we have not received official word yet...but I believe that news will come soon...hopefully!  (I did hear the President say he would waive all state testing...so hopefully this is how it ends up).  We appreciate all of the hard work and stress you have already put into these tests...however with the added stress of not being in school and still needing to complete work from home, I am crossing my fingers along with you on canceling testing for this year.

Other than that, we are starting to get some of those awesome outside days where you sit in class and wish you weren't here...only I have already started to hear from students that wish they were here in this case!

Currently our awards ceremony is postponed...if things change we will work out a method to make sure you get what you have earned.

Please follow guidance on how to beat this virus and I hope that we are all back together on Monday, April 13.  If for some reason our time away gets extended, please continue to come in to get work, drop off work, submit work online, etc.  The HS office is open M-Th 9-3 with limited staffing.  Starting next week, the MS office will be running out of the HS office until we return to school.

Thank you and have a great Tuesday!

Mr. VanWyhe
